Registration for the 22nd INTOSAI WGEA Assembly now open

20.09.2023

In September the Secretariat sent out the invitations to the next WGEA Assembly, which will be hosted by the National Audit Office of Finland in Rovaniemi on 22-24 January 2024. The meeting is intended for  INTOSAI WGEA member SAIs and key stakeholders. The registration deadline is 25 September. The INTOSAI WGEA Secretariat looks forward to warmly welcoming SAI representatives to the Arctic!

The topic of the first day is ‘Auditing the Arctic – Environmental Change and Indigenous Knowledge’ which will be addressed with presentations from keynote speakers, panel discussions with international experts and auditors complemented by selected audit cases and examples of integrating indigenous knowledge in audits.

The second day continues with parallel workshops focusing on the WGEA Work Plan projects. The official Assembly programme is concluded on the third day with topical WGEA matters, new Assembly recommendations as well as the WGEA Award. A call for Award submissions will be distributed  to members soon.

The meeting ends on 24 January, however a separate invitation has been sent to the WGEA Steering Committee for an additional meeting on 25 January. Parallel to the 22nd WGEA Assembly, the IDI’s Global Foundations Unit will organize a training on how to develop proposals for funding in the environmental audit field on Tuesday 23 January and Thursday 25 January. The training is intended for attendees from developing country SAIs (excluding WGEA Steering Committee Members) and a call for applications was sent out in September with the deadline 25 September.

The tentative meeting programme is available on the recently published Assembly webpage. The programme and the website will be continuously updated so stay tuned!
