Are you ready for COP28? The INTOSAI WGEA at the UN Climate Change Conference on 1st and 3rd of December 2023
The INTOSAI WGEA is proud to co-organise two events at the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP28 in Dubai Expo City. Read the latest updates on these events in this news post which is updated on a rolling basis. In addition to the events, the WGEA published a bulletin compiling the WGEA work and SAIs audits on climate.
The first event, a panel discussion Impact for Climate Action – Supreme Audit Institutions Call for Effective Implementation of Climate Policies is organized by SAI United Arab Emirates and the INTOSAI WGEA on 1 December at 16:30-18:00 (UTC +4) at Green Zone. Please note that access to the Green Zone is by invitation only between 30 November to 2 December. If you wish to attend this SAI event, please contact SAI.Communication@saiuae.gov.ae. The Green Zone will be open to the public from 3 December onwards. SAI representatives and all SAI stakeholders participating in COP28 are warmly welcome to join the event. We also encourage SAIs to invite their national delegations to attend this session. The event will also be streamed and the link will be updated here once available.

On 3 December at 10:00-10:45 (UTC +4), a panel discussion Value for money? Auditors for accountability and effective climate spending takes place in the Finland Pavilion (OR02G4), which is located at Blue Zone where participants need an accreditation from their national governments. Please note that the INTOSAI WGEA cannot assist with COP28 arrangements or accreditation which are needed for the Blue Zone. SAI representatives attending COP28 are encouraged to join their national delegations. The session hosted by the National Audit Office of Finland and the INTOSAI WGEA can be watched online in real-time or afterwards.
